The Bronx County Bar Association announces Distinguished Attorney, Sergio Villaverde, Esq., as the new President of the Association.
Bronx Resident, Sergio Villaverde, Esq., to be Installed as President of the Bronx County Bar Association Bronx, NY –October 18, 2024– The Bronx County Bar Association proudly announces that Lifelong Bronx resident and distinguished attorney, Sergio Villaverde, Esq., will be installed as the new President of the Association. The installation ceremony is set to take place on October 23, 2024 at Marina del Rey, Bronx Sergio Villaverde, Esq., a seasoned litigator with over 27 years of legal experience, has dedicated his career to serving the people of the Bronx. A long-time advocate for justice and equality, Villaverde has worked tirelessly in various legal capacities, including civil litigation, family law, and indigent representation in Bronx Family Court. His commitment to the legal profession, combined with his passion for community service, has made him an impactful figure in Bronx County’s legal circles.
“I am deeply humbled and honored to serve as the President of the Bronx County Bar Association,” said Villaverde. “I look forward to continuing the Association’s proud tradition of supporting our legal community while fostering access to justice for all Bronx residents.” The Bronx County Bar Association, established in 1901, has long been a leading voice for the legal profession in Bronx County, promoting professional development, advocating for improvements in the justice system, and providing valuable resources for attorneys. Under Villaverde’s leadership, the Association aims to further its mission and significantly increase ties to the Bronx community.
Villaverde is a graduate of Fordham Law School, the City College of New York, and LaGuardia Community College and has held various leadership roles throughout his career, including serving as Chair of the Matrimonial Committee, Board Member of the PRBA, and Judge Advocate for the New York State Naval Militia. As an active member of the Bronx community, he has also been involved in numerous civic and charitable initiatives. He is currently ViceChair of a local Community Board and serves as Chair of the Veteran’s Committee for the Community Board. Villaverde is also a retired Commander from the United States Coast Guard Reserve as well as a retired NYC Police Officer and a former NYC EMT. The installation ceremony will feature a gathering of Bronx’s legal elite, including judges, attorneys, and distinguished guests. Attendees will also include awardees Borough President Vanessa Gibson and Justice Michael Frishman.
